Sound familiar?

You can see they're lost. You just can't stop the class to fix it.

You're teaching how to add negative fractions. One student can't even start, and it isn't really this lesson. They're still unsure how to add negative numbers, and they've never been confident with different denominators.

To help them properly, you'd have to find every gap, reteach each one and make work that fits. With 25 other students in the room, that doesn't happen. So you help where you can, and the gaps move up a grade with them.

Axinomial does that work for you. Every skill is mapped to the steps underneath it, so you can go straight to the gap.

How it works

Three steps. About a minute. The gap work is done.

1

Pick where they need to get to

Choose the skill your lesson is on, or the one a student needs to reach.

2

Keep the steps they're missing

You see every step underneath it, in teaching order, including ones from earlier grades. Untick what they can already do. Not sure? Send the quiz instead.

3

Print it and hand it over

One PDF: a cover with their learning path, then a lesson page and a practice page for each step, with the answers at the back. The numbers change every time, so each student gets their own sheet.

Not sure where the gaps are?

Don't guess. A 10-minute quiz finds them.

Pick the skill, and each student scans their own QR code or opens their own link. They answer three short questions on every step underneath it, on a phone, tablet or laptop. No account and no app to install.

  • "I'm not sure yet" is always an answer, so nobody has to guess.
  • You see every step as Knows this, Shaky or Needs teaching the moment they finish.
  • One click turns the results into their package.

Short sentences. One idea per line. Every step is shown, and the help fades as they go: first you do it together, then they take the lead, then they work alone.

Teachers

Differentiate for the students who are behind without writing extra lessons. Quiz them, then print each one their own package.

Tutors

Start the first session knowing exactly where the gaps are, and leave them with work that matches.

Parents

Help at the kitchen table without remembering how you were taught. The answers and working are at the back.

Questions

Does it cost anything?

It's free for founding teachers during early access. If paid plans begin, founding teachers hear first and get a founding price.

What do you ask of founding teachers?

Use it with your students and tell us honestly how it went. After a few packages, the app asks a couple of quick questions, and we may ask if we can quote you.

What level is it for?

Grades 8 to 10 math, and the earlier skills they depend on. It's built for students who are behind and find math reading hard.

Do students need an account?

No. Packages are printed, and the quiz opens from a link or QR code.

What happens to student answers?

Only the teacher who sent the quiz sees them. Quiz pages have no tracking or cookies, and quiz links and answers are deleted after 7 days.

Is every sheet the same?

No. The lessons stay the same, but the numbers in the questions change every time you make a package.
